Pet Sounds and Stereo System

Hey, I'm back! I went to Orphaned CD's for the first time since I got back and I suddenly came to the realization that they're good if you're randomly walking in there to browse, but if you're looking for something specific they have absolutely NOTHING! I went in there with the hopes of finding Bitches Brew, Apostrophe, and The Red Album, but their selection was extremely weak. Strangely enough, I did end up coming out of there with Stunt, Birth of The Cool, and The Pet Sounds Sessions 4-disc Set (the latter for $11.99, I might add!) and I was really pleased. The moral of the story is: If you go into Orphaned CD's, don't expect to find what you're looking, but expect to find something cheaper and almost as good. Speaking of music (isn't that what I'm almost always apeaking about?), I have finally gotten a shelf dedicated to my CD's, Vinyl, Record Player, and Stereo, so I'm going to spend the ret of the day organizing all my musical stuff-osity. And to end today's wonderful blog, I will post a beautiful picture of the greatest children's book of all time:

The Mainstream: Episode 1

Hey, the first episode of The Mainstream is up! Download it right here:

Sorry I didn't download it right away like I promised, but it was an early morning, and I have bigger things to worry about than you. Also, sorry about not naming it or anything (you'll see what I'm talking about when you download it), but I'm an amateur. Hope you like it!

Orphaned CD's and "The Mainstream"

Hey, its me again! So today, I found this great place on Reseda called Orphaned CD's. It' a really small place, but it's got some great stuff! They've got used CD's and over 1,000 records (not including their 45's and 78's!). I was like a kid in a candy store and I ended up getting this rare promotional RHCP EP/Single that was in a pile of used mini-LP's that were all 50 cents! I also went ahead and got a copy of the When I Come Around single with the alternative cover. They had some pretty good stuff and I was pretty happy. The best part was the fact that this place is only a 5-minute bike ride from my house!

Also, tonight, I'm going to upload the first episode of my radio show, "The Mainstream" where I play Novelty, Humor, World, and Avant-Garde music that most people don't get the privilege of listening to.

Finally, I'm gonna be gone for the next two weeks, so hopefully I don't completely forget about this blog by the time I get back. But if all you people are lucky enough that I don't, then there will be more on the way! Oh, and since I ripped off their idea, I feel it only necessary to give The Cocktail Twins as much free advertising as possible. Anyways, see you in two weeks!

Pretty Awesome Stuff!

Hey there, everybody! So recently, I was looking for some little public domain jingles to use in my videos, and I stumbled across this compilation of production music from Ren and Stimpy. You'll probably remember alot of these songs from shows like Spongebob and Rocko's Modern Life, and I really recommend it to people out there making movies and whatnot. This is just awesome mood-setting stuff perfect for virtually ANYTHING. You can read about it here:

And download it here:

There's even a volume 2! This is just a 5-Star Download and great stuff to listen to. I take no credit for any of this, some guy with a bunch of free time just compiled it all up and designed the cover.

On that note, last month, when I was in Columbia, South Carolina, I went into a record shop called "Papa Jazz". Their record prices were dirt cheap, and I was able to get about 12 albums all for around 25 bucks. Out of all these records, the coolest one that I got probably had to be Led Zeppelin III, just because of the spinning wheel, and the fact that it was still in its wrapping (though the vinyl HAD been taken out). I also got "Layla and Other Assorted Love Songs" by Derek and the Dominos for $4, and "Rock and Roll Music" by the Beatles (which I'm pretty sure is a rarity... please comment) for 3$. So, yeah. I was in a pretty good mood today, and I WILL be posting tomorrow.

Sorry...

Ok, so I know I said I'd be posting shortly, but I've been really busy this summer. The good news is, starting tomorrow, I'll be posting regularly! YAY!

So, I'll be posting as often as I can (hopefully once a week, at least), and I guess I'll see you tomorrow!
